recipe ideas for what’s on sale and in season

For the last year or so, I’ve been contributing weekly to my friend Carrie’s amazingly awesome blog, Springs Bargains (and the sister site, Denver Bargains).  If you’ve never visited Springs Bargains, you really should — you’ll find all kinds of money-saving deals for grocery stores, restaurants, and local events.  Although the content is directed toward residents of Colorado, much of the information is relevant for everyone else as well!

My weekly posts for Springs Bargains are part of the series, What To Make With What’s On Sale.  I pick one of the better grocery deals going on each week and collect ideas and recipes for using that particular sale item.  Writing these posts has helped me expand my cooking repertoire a bit, and it’s also pulled me out of the I-bought-this-sale-item-but-don’t-know-how-to-use-it sinkhole.  Please tell me I’m not the only one who’s been there! :)

The What To Make With What’s On Sale archives include produce, meats, and pantry items.  Check it out, especially if you have a particular item you’re not sure how to use (or just need some new ideas.)  There’s a new post every Friday!
