I’m a mama to four.
How in the world did I get here? I blinked, and it happened.
I’m often too busy to give much thought to what is really wrapped up in these blessings, this responsibility. But when I do stop…and think…and study these four sweet faces, I’m completely overwhelmed by the magnitude of God’s goodness…and my constant need for His grace.
This job has been given to me to do.
Therefore, it is a gift.
Therefore, it is a privilege.
Therefore, it is an offering I may make to God.
Therefore, it is to be done gladly, if it is done for Him. Here, not somewhere else, I may learn God’s way. In this job, not in some other, God looks for faithfulness.
I absolutely love being a mother and I wouldn’t choose any other way of life, but I also know that the work of motherhood is far beyond what I can do in my own strength.
Christ Jesus understands our case, and knows our need, and will proportion the remedy to our malady, and not only strengthen us, but glorify himself. His strength is made perfect in our weakness. Thus his grace is manifested and magnified; he ordains his praise out of the mouths of babes and sucklings.
Praise God for His perfect grace!
